WIMA is 70 years old this year. For 70 years women from various countries have been meeting. Each year the international rally is organized by a different country. But, sadly, not this year. Due to the measures taken because of the Covid-19 virus, the German women had to cancel their rally.
Since 1996 I have been to over 15 rallies. To begin with I was skeptical and didn’t know what to expect. However, everything was way better than I had imagined. A relaxed, wonderful atmosphere. The possibility to explore new regions with women from different countries. You can around on the bike as much or as little as you wish. Games, food, party, or if you feel like it you can spend a rainy day sleeping.
Each year time is spent considering the options for travelling to and from the rally. I have learnt to go on the car trains with the motorbike; ferries are also easypeasy. You look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. It is fascinating to see the range and variety of bikes that women ride. There is no such thing as a women’s bike.

It was always worthwhile to use a week or more for WIMA. If you have never been to a rally, I can really recommend it! Next year the Dutch women are organizing the rally.
