Even today, we still receive congratulations on yesterday’s performance – a feeling that definitely resonates. The applause and standing ovations from the Trash Evening are unforgettable, and we savour the small moments of recognition with beaming faces.
Breakfast is rudimentarily British, with toast, eggs and a bit of bacon. After all the dancing and partying the night before, however, we are so hungry that we go back for more. It’s good to sit together, relax and take the morning slowly.
The day is generally quiet. A small number of the WIMAs take the opportunity for one last ride, while the majority recover from the short night. The programme still has plenty to offer: workshops such as tyre patching or first aid are on the agenda, and those who want to can join in spontaneously. Others use the peace and quiet to tidy up their tents or rooms and prepare for the next day’s departure.
In the evening, a special highlight is on the programme: the presentation of the videos for the upcoming 2025 rallies in Germany and the USA. The anticipation of what lies ahead in 2025 grows with every minute. This is immediately followed by the official farewells and the award ceremony – and there is reason to celebrate: WIMA-Austria wins the award for the best Trash Evening Performance!
A moment that makes us proud and makes us laugh a lot – after all, our contribution was anything but serious, but performed with full commitment. The Song Contest could really take a leaf out of our book 😉
We also present our gifts to the organising team, who put their heart and soul into making this fantastic rally possible. The evening draws to a relaxed close – in the open air, with a glass of Prosecco and a lot of gratitude for the last few days.
The farewells are warm, but also wistful. Some of us want to leave early tomorrow morning to beat the heat and the traffic.
Our résumé:
The rally was less well organised than previous events and communication sometimes got stuck as a result. The vastness of the site was certainly a factor that made coordination more difficult.
But: the personal commitment, this outstanding feel-good factor and the warmth of the organisation team made up for these minor shortcomings by far.
It was a rally worth remembering.
For our rally newcomers, it was an introduction that set the bar high for future events. The camp itself was sensational and offered an incredible amount of opportunities. In terms of motorcycling, the immediate surroundings were fine, but many of the real sights were simply too far away for day trips – especially in the heat and with the necessary group speed. The huge dimensions of the country are simply difficult for us Austrians to grasp on a map and therefore easy to underestimate.
Which showed once again:
WIMA is a unique organisation
What makes WIMA so special is the mixture of international exchange, personal commitment and the strong community that connects people across national borders. Regardless of whether you are attending for the first time or have already experienced many rallies – every event is proof of how women with a shared passion can not only have fun, but also create an inspiring network. Everyone is welcomed here, and everyone brings something unique to the table, with a feel-good factor thrown in for good measure. It makes you proud to be an active part of it.
The disco doesn’t open until 22:30 today – we don’t have the energy for that this time. The early start the next morning calls and we thankfully forgo the late hours.
A great adventure comes to an end, with memories that will stay with us for a long time.
A big and heartfelt THANK YOU to all the guides who took the Wima-Austria driving groups safely there and back again.
The commitment and planning involved, especially for journeys lasting several days, cannot be appreciated enough.
