Sometimes life writes the most beautiful stories quite spontaneously. A week before Moto Austria in Wels, we got a call: “We have one spot left for you.”
We looked at each other, smiled – and knew immediately: we want to go there. That’s where we belong.
So suddenly we were at Moto Austria. Unexpectedly, a little excited and full of joy. Finally visible again, finally out and about again with what connects us: our passion for motorcycling – and our community
Together is simply better
Our stand was a real collaboration. Together with SheRides, a community app that, like us, supports women in the motorcycling sector, we shared space, ideas and many conversations. It felt right. Not side by side, but together.

Between flyers, glances and encounters
Handing out flyers sounds simple – but it quickly became much more than that. It turned into a little journey of encounters.
We saw women who hesitated. Who smiled. Who came back.
We noticed how different the paths are that lead women to motorcycling – and how wonderful it is when these paths cross for a moment.
Sometimes conversations came about quite easily, sometimes it took a little courage on both sides. And yes, there were also the looks and grins from some men. We take that with a pinch of salt. Maybe out of surprise, maybe out of curiosity. For us, it was one thing above all else: a reminder of why WIMA is needed – even today.

We drive. We stand up for each other.
The trade fair was crowded, lively, noisy – and our stand was right in the middle of it all. We explained, talked, laughed, took photos and made videos. By the end, we had handed out around 800 flyers in three days.
Not all of them achieved their goal, we know that. But many did. And some of these flyers sparked something: messages afterwards, questions, genuine interest, initial membership applications. Those are the moments that stay with us.

30 years of WIMA-Austria – and still a long way to go
In our 30th anniversary year, we were delighted to see our story gaining attention. Initial positive feedback, discussions with exhibitors – and even a commitment from the Austrian motorcycle magazine to publish an article about WIMA. About what we stand for. About us.

We took turns – and were rewarded😉
Every day, three or four of us were on site. We took turns, supported each other and created space for ourselves. Time for conversations, time for the trade fair – and yes, time for a little shopping here and there. That’s all part of it. And it lifts the mood.
What we take with us
Three days full of encounters. Full of small confirmations. Full of warmth.
We are tired, but happy. Grateful. And a little proud.
Because we felt that we are visible. We were noticed. And we do make a difference.
Not loudly. Not patronisingly. But strong.
