Will there be curves today?

The WIMA-D.A.CH meeting was just around the corner and the anticipation was great! The journey was a little adventure for us, which would not only take us through picturesque landscapes, but also through one or two winding challenges. The meeting point was at the Eni petrol station in Untertullnerbach, where we had all gathered – except for Michaela, who unfortunately had to drop out due to a breakdown. Poor Michaela! She waited patiently for the Öamtc and we could only hope that she wouldn’t tell too many stories about her ‘beautiful’ day while we set off.

With six people in our group – just the right number for such a tour, as we thought – we set off. We decided to explore the southern side of the Danube this time and chose small, winding roads that took us all the way to Ybbs. You could almost say that we had chosen the ‘dual carriageway’ to slow down! The roads were sometimes so narrow that you almost felt like you could caress the trees while driving, but we didn’t slow down.

After Ybbs, we continued along the Danube to Grein. And what would a WIMA tour be without the obligatory ‘Schörgi Stop’? It was an absolute must! We stopped to embrace ourselves with ice cream and coffee – after all, you need the necessary energy even for winding roads! The conversations were lively and we laughed about the little mishaps that had happened to us on the journey. (Such as the multiple ‘shortcuts’ past the GPS nav)

By chance, we also met a group of three from the German WoW (Women on Wheels) from Bavaria, who also cooperate with WIMA in Germany. They are also spending the weekend in the area!

When we finally entered the Mühlviertel, the road became even more winding. It was almost as if the road wanted to challenge us to put our driving skills to the test. And just then we hit the next bend again. It was like a rollercoaster ride, only without seatbelts and with a lot more fun!

After what felt like an eternity, but which felt like a beautiful dream, we finally reached Reichenau. We were all delighted and a little proud that we had made it without any major incidents. The Landgasthof Seyrlberg was our destination, and once there, we checked into our rooms. We were all looking forward to dinner and could hardly wait to greet the other WIMAs who had already arrived before us.

The atmosphere in the country inn was simply fantastic! There was a cheerful reunion with old acquaintances and stories about the journey were exchanged. Everyone had had their own little adventures and it was the perfect opportunity to laugh and share experiences.

So our day ended full of adventure and anticipation for the upcoming meeting and activities. We were ready for what was to come – and with big smiles on our faces!
