Emotional

Parade day has finally arrived! After a hearty breakfast, the motorcycle is spruced up and decorated for the parade. At 9:30 a.m., the parade starts slowly and we also line up in the long queue of motorcycles.

It is always an emotional experience to be on the road with this large group of women riding motorcycles. But there is also one point that concerns us: why do we still need men to secure the parade convoy? A real mystery for us! (In defense of the French orga team: the women in their team really went all out to make the rally experience as wonderful as possible for us. Their resources were extremely limited to accomplish this task on the side). Nevertheless, perhaps some of the participants would have been interested in this job? It’s up to the woman!
But back to the parade: the convoy slowly picks up speed and we make a loop around our location and then deeper into the valley until just before Ociers. We stop at a lake to take the obligatory group photo and let the moment fade away.

Afterwards, the groups split up and we make our way back. While we slowly prepare for the return journey, we use the time to pack up the first things, temporarily replace missing screws and relax a little.

There will be other interesting presentations in the marquee, including a tour from France to Iran, as well as an auction in aid of our Pikililly support.

Then comes the official part, which unfortunately drags on endlessly – the mere fact that everything is presented in two languages (even though I understand WIMA France) it makes the evening even longer.
Eg. The presentation of the next WIMA Rally in Romania was so late that many people were already on their way to bed.
Despite the successful evening, we definitely see potential for improvement at the upcoming rallies 😉
