After a leisurely breakfast, we kicked off the second day of our anniversary weekend. We were all really looking forward to it, because today’s plan was a group ride with our international guests. Right from the morning, it became clear what makes WIMA special: women from different countries who share the same passion and understand each other instantly, even without saying much.

To accommodate all participants, we split into two groups. Both groups had the same destination in mind—the ferry in Obermühl on the Danube—but the route there would be different.
The first group opted for a slightly more active itinerary and stopped at the famous Schlögener Danube Bend. From the parking lot, a roughly 30-minute hike led to the lookout point. The effort, however, was richly rewarded: at the top, a breathtaking view of the Danube unfolded, winding through the landscape in an impressive loop. It’s no wonder people here like to say that the Schlögener Danube Loop is proof that granite is harder than water. For a moment, motorcycles, miles, and schedules faded into the background as we simply enjoyed the view.

The second group chose a more leisurely route and headed straight for the ferry. The plan was for both groups to meet up there again. But as is sometimes the case with group outings, the day didn’t quite go according to schedule.

The tour group had had lunch in Obermühl in the meantime and realized that it was already getting a bit late. To avoid disrupting the afternoon schedule, they decided on the spot to skip the ferry and head straight to the next stop: the gingerbread factory.
The group was, of course, informed of this change.

However, she didn’t want to miss out on the ferry ride. This kicked off a bit of a race against time. After the crossing, the group hurried on to make it to the scheduled tour of the gingerbread factory in time. They didn’t quite make it right on time, but with only a few minutes’ delay, the participants in the second group were able to join the tour that was already underway.

After that, it was time to relax and enjoy ourselves. Amid the aroma of gingerbread treats, coffee, cake, and ice cream, there was plenty of time to chat, unwind, and recharge our batteries. Looking back, the day’s minor changes to our plans sparked plenty of laughter and confirmed an old truth: the best stories usually happen when things don’t go exactly as planned.
In the evening, we returned to our accommodations. As the sun set, the temperatures dropped surprisingly quickly, but that didn’t dampen the good mood. In the cozy, warm lounge, we chatted, laughed, and toasted to 30 years of WIMA Austria.

In the end, the music provided a truly special finale. Everyone sang together, accompanied by instruments, high spirits, and even more warmth. The international group grew even closer, and by this point at the latest, it was clear that WIMA is so much more than just a motorcycle club. It is the friendships, the shared experiences, and the many stories that bind us together.
And so another wonderful anniversary day came to an end—full of breathtaking views, little detours, spontaneous decisions, and a strong sense of community. Truly in the spirit of 30 years of WIMA Austria.
